The house we live in was built in 1905 and has very good bones with bedrooms on the top floor and a flowing living space on the main floor - with both floors connected via one of those ornate spiral staircases. Unfortunately, a remodel and decoration was in the 80's and the look is quite dated. I would like to strip the walls and decorative arches down to the bare pine planking and the solid wood beams, giving the rooms a warm natural feel. The floors on the main story need to have the carpet removed and wood laminate laid down. I would retile the kitchen with warm terra cotta and refinish the wood floor. The entire house needs new paint to remove the cold hospital blue that has plagued our existance. The roof needs to be replaced and the insulation should be redone. Thankfully, we have enough skills among family and friends to be able to do all the work but the roof and insulation ourselves. |

Julie was laughing so hard while reading something online it's the quite of laughter that's contagious that I cannot help the smile that was forming on my face. She was reading the 12 Worst Tribute Albums ever recorded and found several tag lines to be very funny. According to the article one of the worst tribute albums ever recorded was a harp tribute to Metallica by two chicks who thought they could rock. I admit it's quite funny I mean Metallica songs on harp that doesn't sound well at all. I left Julie laughing still and headed to the dining room thinking I could read there in silence only to find Monica frowning while banging her mouse incessantly. I looked at her screen to see what's wrong and find it frozen on About.com - electricians fleet. Wow! What's with this kind of search? For as long as I have known Monica the only Google search she ever does are all related to Fashion, Lifestyle, Food and Men. She must have guessed what I was thinking because she snapped saying she clicked on an ad accidentally and ended up on that site which in turn froze her computer. |
